Have you heard? The sky is falling! Here's a sampling of what I've heard on the radio and TV over the last couple of days. There's shortage of rice - Costco is rationing it. There is no butter in Japan. There's a shortage of wheat, oats, and just about everything because the farmers are all growing corn for fuel. Speaking of fuel gas is going to cost $5.00 a gallon this summer. It just goes on and on.
Seriously, I went to Costco yesterday (I figured I better buy some rice, which we really don't even eat very often and if we do it's brown but still if there's not enough to go around I better get some...) I expected the shelves to be bear and people running around like crazy grabbing whatever they could get their hands on but I guess they didn't get the news that the sky is falling. People were wandering around as usual, picking up giant vats of artichoke dip and rotisserie chickens. Crowds were huddled around the sample table waiting for the won tons to come out of the toaster oven. All is right with the world!
I've decided that I'm not going to listen to the news. If the sky falls I'll figure out a way to survive but chances are everything will be fine. No sense acting as if life is over now when it's a gorgeous day with endless possibilities. Besides, I've got my seventy six tubs of wheat and potato pearls galore. I did grab some honey and oil since I was at Costco - food storage lists are embedded in my brain... For today the sky is blue and sparkling and life is good! Forget your troubles, come on get happy!

Brother Cousins
Doug's graduation
He did it! Doug graduated from BYUI!! It was a lovely event with a banquet on Thursday night then graduation and convocation on Friday. Elder Ballard spoke and gave some wonderful council. At the banquet he basically told the guys to get married.
Doug and Cate already decided that was a really good idea!
We're so happy for Doug!! It was fun being on campus again. We also attended the sealing of our sweet neice Ali at the new Rexburg temple. It was a busy and fabulous day full of family.Doug and Cate already decided that was a really good idea!

Family
Conference was so wonderful this morning. Our home became a sacred place as we each in turn stood to sustain prophets, seers and revelators during the solemn assembly. President Monson is a prophet of God. I love to be reminded of what is really important. I feel blessed to be a part of such a wonderful family, both the one pictured below, extended family and friends whom I consider family - it's no accident that our paths cross.
